Logs
This page contains information about how to create and format your logs. For information about log due dates and reporting, see "Rules".
The Pirate QSO Party now has its own logging program, written by Julian Langlo, LB5QG! It can be downloaded from
https://github.com/julian94/PirateLogger/raw/master/dist/PirateLogger.jar. You will need to have Java installed on your computer for it to run properly. Blue pirates are still logged as black pirates on that program; this bug will be fixed as soon as possible.
If you would prefer to write a paper log, or have trouble with the logging program, here are the key pieces of information that must be recorded for each QSO:
A: Band (21, 14, or 7)
B: Running or S&P (don't forget to record this -- is key to proper scoring)
C: Date
D: Time
E: Your number of doubloons at the start of the QSO
F: Their callsign
G: Their number of doubloons at start of QSO
H: Their pirate name
I: Did the running party have to walk the plank? (Y/N)
Example QSO: 14 {A} S {B} 2014-9-20 {C} 0141 {D} 30 {E} K6XX {F} 25 {G} K6XX's-Pirate-Name {H} N {I}
W6RRR may have logged this if she had worked K6XX when he was CQing on 20 meters on the evening of Sep. 19th (which is the morning of the 20th in UTC). In this instance she apparently started with 30 doubloons and he with 25, and they were the same color so she couldn't and didn't make him walk the plank. (curly brackets signify relationship to above parameters A-I, and would not be used in an actual log)
